We are looking for a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to support financial performance and costing accuracy within a manufacturing environment in southwest Minnesota. This role will help strengthen inventory valuation, product cost reporting, and margin analysis while working closely with accounting, finance, and operations teams. The position offers an opportunity to influence business decisions through meaningful analysis and to contribute to the ongoing enhancement of costing tools and processes.
Job Responsibility
Lead daily costing activities within the ERP environment and improve the reliability of cost-related data and workflows
Analyze inventory values, product costs, and profitability trends to provide clear reporting for business leaders
Maintain standard cost frameworks, cost components, and production-related cost models to support accurate financial reporting
Evaluate labor, material, and overhead variances and explain key drivers affecting operational performance
Assist with month-end and period-end close by preparing reconciliations, recording journal entries, and validating cost balances
Review work order activity and manufacturing transactions to ensure costs are captured correctly and reported in a timely manner
Partner with finance, FP&A, accounting, and operations teams to deliver insights that support planning and decision-making
Contribute to the implementation and refinement of Oracle Fusion costing capabilities and related internal controls
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
At least 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, with exposure to cost-focused responsibilities
Demonstrated knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, or product costing in an operational setting
Experience working with ERP systems
Oracle Fusion experience is strongly preferred
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify meaningful trends
Effective organizational and communication skills for working across multiple departments
Nice to have
Background in manufacturing, production, or agriculture environments is preferred
Familiarity with system implementations, audit support, or financial control processes is a plus
