Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team in Hayward, California. In this role, you will apply your expertise in financial analysis and cost accounting to support pricing strategies, margin analysis, and accurate reporting processes. This is a Contract position that offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to data-driven decision-making.

Job Responsibility

  • Conduct in-depth cost analysis, including product costing, variance analysis, and standard versus actual cost comparisons
  • Maintain accurate bills of materials, labor, and overhead cost structures to ensure consistency and reliability in financial reporting
  • Support pricing decisions through detailed margin analysis and scenario modeling based on cost changes and volume assumptions
  • Prepare and deliver management reports such as margin analyses, cost reports, and key performance indicators on a recurring basis
  • Assist with month-end close activities, including inventory reconciliations and cost-related accruals
  • Investigate discrepancies between subledgers and the general ledger to ensure data accuracy
  • Contribute to the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing cost-related insights and projections
  • Enhance data integrity and streamline reporting templates to improve overall financial processes
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors by documenting processes and responding to audit requests

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in cost accounting or financial analysis roles
  • Proficiency in manufacturing cost accounting and standard cost accounting methodologies
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify cost drivers and opportunities for optimization
  • Experience with financial reporting and reconciliation processes
  • Advanced knowledge of financial systems and tools for extracting and analyzing data
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
