We are looking for a dedicated Cost Accountant to join our team in Tulare County, California. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing product costs, analyzing variances, and supporting operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration abilities, and a deep understanding of cost accounting principles to drive financial transparency and decision-making.
Job Responsibility:
Maintain and update standard costs, including bills of materials (BOMs), routings, and overhead rates
Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances, delivering actionable insights through detailed reports
Support month-end close activities related to inventory and manufacturing variances
Collaborate with Operations to identify cost drivers and assess the financial impact of production processes
Assist in developing cost models and conducting margin analyses
Act as a subject-matter expert for the company’s ERP system, ensuring data integrity and providing system training
Troubleshoot ERP-related issues and drive enhancements to improve functionality across departments
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting and cost transparency
Provide financial guidance for operational decisions, including pricing, capital expenditures, and inventory management
Identify areas for improvement in operational and financial processes, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, particularly within manufacturing or cost accounting environments
Strong analytical abilities and proficiency in managing complex datasets
Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across non-financial teams
Familiarity with ERP systems, with a willingness to develop expertise in system architecture
Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and formulas
Knowledge of standard costing, inventory accounting, or variance analysis
