Job Description

In this role you will be in charge of supporting the development of cost accounting and project control activities for high-tech, large diverse activities/projects that are highly visible over the Airbus Group. You will take part in shaping the future, you will step into a high-visibility role within the Accounting & Control (A&C) department. This isn't just about reporting; it’s about deep-diving into the operational drivers of high-tech manufacturing to ensure our most ambitious projects stay on track. You will manage the CAPEX activities for facilities and other assets and will be responsible for the recharge of costs and fees to or from other Airbus subsidiaries for the Service Level Agreements that are in place. You will work closely with internal stakeholders (Project Managers, A&C team, Project Control team, HR and legal) and external stakeholders (suppliers, customers and counterpart project controllers).

Job Responsibility

  • Financial reference for projects within Airbus Group
  • Draw up and maintain the result estimate (“EAC”) of a project (hours, required capacity, use of facilities, costs of suppliers and other costs and revenues)
  • Draw up and maintain project structures, such as the Work Breakdown Structure
  • Monitor, analyse and report on the realisation of the financial, logistical and time planning of project activities
  • Signal deviations in the project with regard to the processes and procedures established at company level and in particular compliance with the project management method
  • Take actions to correct deviations
  • Check Purchase Orders ("POs") for correctness and for compliance with the financial, logistical and time planning of project activities and approvals
  • Check delivered goods / services for compliance with the POs
  • Support the accounting team in the validation process of the supplier invoices
  • Ensure and monitor the quality and timely delivery of project information regarding time and money by work package managers (including “drumbeat”)
  • Prepare risk analyses and monitor risk management within projects, determine the required project reserve based on the risk analysis, signal when risks are no longer covered by the project reserve
  • Prepare invoice requests to customers
  • Follow the payment of the customers
  • Review the invoice plan
  • Process with the formalization of the updated EACs
  • Plan the EACs to be updated
  • Initiate and monitor the internal change process
  • Contribute to the development of the field of Project control (processes, methods and techniques)
  • Advise the (Senior) Project Manager on financial project matters
  • Deep dive in operational topics to understand the drivers behind financials
  • Recharge of costs + fees to other subsidiaries
  • Part of the SLA team (Service Level Agreements) with other internal disciplines like HR, Legal and A&C
  • Update of the actuals
  • Identification of any major deviation
  • Point of contact for HR to deliver any financial figures (actuals & forecast)
  • Giving input to invoice to the Account Receivables team
  • Cost accounting
  • Definition of the budgets for the year
  • Follow-up of cost centres (actual VS forecast)
  • Follow-up of the hours (per month at corporate level)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master degree in Finance/Accounting
  • 2-5 years’ experience in Finance, cost accounting and/or experience as Project Controller
  • Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written)
  • Advanced Excel modelling
  • Knowledge of using Power BI
  • Strong knowledge in SAP ERP system (preferred)
  • Completeness and accuracy in the figures (reliability)
  • Working with deadlines
  • Available for 32-40 hours per week
  • Residency in the Netherlands
  • Providing a VOG/Certificate of Conduct is part of the procedure
