Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Cost Accountant/Analyst to join our client's manufacturing team in the Lansdale, Pennsylvania area. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your analytical skills and accounting expertise in a fast-paced production environment. As a key contributor, you will provide valuable financial insights and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency and profitability.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and oversee cost accounting processes, including labor, material, and overhead allocations, to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Perform detailed variance and margin analyses to identify trends and areas for cost optimization
  • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to refine pricing strategies and identify opportunities for cost savings
  • Build comprehensive financial forecasts and support strategic planning initiatives
  • Maintain a hands-on approach by engaging with the manufacturing floor to align operational realities with financial data
  • Provide product-level profitability insights to guide decision-making and enhance business strategies
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and practices while continuously improving reporting processes
  • Act as a liaison between operations and accounting to foster collaboration and informed decision-making
  • Streamline and improve financial models for better forecasting and analysis
  • Support audits and ensure accuracy in cost-related financial documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in Excel and other financial tools for data analysis and modeling
  • Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with standard cost accounting practices and methodologies
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing setting

Knowledge of food production processes is a plus

  • Partner with site leadership to identify inventory discrepancies, escalate irregularities, and reinforce sound internal control practices
  • Contribute to forecasting and budgeting by providing facility-specific analysis, commentary, and financial insights to accounting and operations leaders
  • Build collaborative relationships across operations and participate in meetings related to product lines, plant performance, and process improvement
  • Maintain documentation, assist with cross-training, and complete ad hoc reporting or special projects tied to cost accounting and inventory management
