Ability to execute Licensed Independent Provider's orders
Ability to dispense and administer medications
Ability to assist in examinations and treatment of patients

Ability to perform technical/clinical procedures within scope of education and licensure
Ability to operate pill call and document medication
Ability to examine and assess patients

Job Responsibility

Plan and provide comprehensive nursing care
Attend sick call with the physician
Prepare examining room and equipment
Call Licensed Independent Providers for orders and emergencies
Refer inmates/residents to appropriate healthcare facilities
Assist in coordinating professional medical services by contract personnel
Monitor inmate/resident inpatient hospitalizations for early releases
Maintain good working relationships
Use sound independent judgment
Regularly evaluate provision of medical services

Job Responsibility

Provides general nursing care to patients
Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques
Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatments and examinations of patients
Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents
Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient
May make beds, bathe, and feed patients
May serve as leader for group of personnel rendering nursing care to number of patients
Additional RN duties given by Supervisor.

Conducting intakes, chart reviews and medication verification tasks
Ensuring compliance with American Correctional Association (ACA) and National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) standards
Working with State Office of Pharmacy Services (SOPS) with regard to ordering medication and discharge planning
Other work duties as assigned by the Health Services Administrator or designee
