The Department is seeking a detail oriented professional to help manage its dietary operations inside of a correctional setting. The ideal candidate will serve as the lead Food Service Supervisor and be tasked with mid-level management responsibilities pertaining to inventory and personnel management.
Job Responsibility
Supervises staff
Provides input into food production by directing and initiating maintenance of proper health, sanitation, and safety standards in preparing, serving, and storing foods
Plans, schedules, and publishes menus for general and therapeutic diets
Directs and monitors staff in training individuals in custody in food preparation
Serves as a Food Services Program Manager in his/her absence
Requirements
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school
Requires three (3) years institution food preparation experience such as could be gained as a Corrections Food Service Supervisor I or II, or supervisory experience in a large-scale food operation
Requires possession of a current Food Service Sanitation Certificate issued by the Illinois Department of Public Health or requires possession of a Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) certification from a program accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Conference for Food Protection (CFP)
Nice to have
at least five (5) years of experience performing access control, space assignment, equipment handling, or inventory management
at least four (4) years of experience communicating effectively using both verbal and written skills in relaying specific job functions
at least four (4) years of professional experience ordering supplies, processing invoices, and distributing materials to work locations
at least four (4) years of professional experience in a professional setting applying elementary knowledge of professional accounting, auditing, and/or inventory methods and procedures
at least four (4) years of professional experience in a professional setting performing detailed work involving written or numerical data
at least four (4) years of professional experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel, or similar software
at least three (3) years of professional experience with the SAP platform
at least two (2) years of professional experience evaluating inventory management issues of moderate difficulty and analyzing and interpreting less complex accounting records and reports
at least two (2) years of supervisory experience
at least one (1) year of experience in dealing with confidential and sensitive information
