Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Corporate Tax Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Daytona Beach, Florida. This role focuses on sales and use tax compliance, including identifying overpayments, reconciling transactions, and enhancing tax recognition processes. You will collaborate with internal departments and provide training to ensure proper tax handling while contributing to overall process improvements.

Job Responsibility

  • Analyze historical transactions to identify and address sales and use tax overpayments
  • Conduct research on tax regulations to support refund claims or credit recovery efforts
  • Assist in reconciling accounts and correcting improper tax applications
  • Provide training to teams such as Accounts Payable, Procurement, and Finance on accurate sales and use tax recognition
  • Develop clear documentation and guidelines to streamline tax-related processes
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve tax compliance and operational efficiency
  • Offer accounting and financial support related to indirect tax matters
  • Ensure adherence to tax regulations and best practices in all relevant transactions

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales and use tax compliance, audits, or recovery initiatives
  • Strong understanding of indirect tax laws and purchasing tax treatment
  • Familiarity with working alongside Accounts Payable, Procurement, and Finance teams
  • Background in Accounting or Finance is preferred
  • Proficiency in corporate tax processes, including journal entries and general ledger management
  • Skilled in handling corporate tax returns and ensuring accurate reporting
  • Ability to interpret tax regulations and apply them to transaction reviews
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills for training and collaboration
