Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Corporate Tax Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Kansas City, Missouri. In this role, you will handle various aspects of corporate tax accounting, ensuring compliance with regulations and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in tax provisions, corporate tax returns, and related financial processes.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations
Manage sales tax filings and address any related inquiries or discrepancies
Analyze and record journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger
Complete and file IRS 5471 forms in accordance with international tax requirements
Develop and review income tax provisions, ensuring alignment with annual tax reporting standards
Collaborate with internal teams to finalize annual tax provisions and income tax calculations
Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure adherence and proper application
Assist in audits and inquiries related to corporate tax matters, providing necessary documentation and support
Perform reconciliations and analyses to validate tax-related account balances

Requirements:

Proven experience in corporate tax accounting, including preparation of corporate tax returns
Knowledge of sales tax regulations and filing procedures
Proficiency in managing general ledger accounts and recording journal entries
Familiarity with IRS 5471 forms and international tax compliance
Strong understanding of income tax provisions and annual reporting requirements
Ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate across departments
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in financial processes
Up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations impacting corporate entities
