The Corporate Sustainability Manager is accountable for the end-to-end delivery, operational integrity and continuous improvement of Amgen’s sustainability data, reporting, and technology enablement efforts. This role owns the design, implementation, operationalization, and ongoing optimization of sustainability reporting systems and associated controls. The Manager ensures data quality, audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and scalable technology enablement across voluntary and regulated disclosures.
Job Responsibility:
Own the finalization, implementation, and operationalization of the Corporate Sustainability data hub
Lead end-to-end implementation and ongoing administration of regulatory sustainability reporting software
Maintain and evolve sustainability technology platforms
Apply AI and automation solutions to improve the efficiency and scalability of Corporate Sustainability processes
Lead the development and execution of a technology-focused controls roadmap
Proactively identify data, process, system, and regulatory risks, and design and implement mitigation strategies
Partner with Internal Audit, DTI, and Finance
Partner with business stakeholders to collect, validate, and manage sustainability data
Support the external audit of Amgen’s sustainability data
Monitor and respond to ESG rating agencies
Conduct peer benchmarking
Coordinate and respond to ESG surveys
Requirements:
Doctorate degree
OR Master’s degree and 2 years of sustainability/ESG reporting, financial or non-financial reporting, audit, internal controls, or enterprise systems implementation
OR Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of sustainability/ESG reporting, financial or non-financial reporting, audit, internal controls, or enterprise systems implementation
OR Associate’s degree and 8 years of sustainability/ESG reporting, financial or non-financial reporting, audit, internal controls, or enterprise systems implementation
OR High school diploma / GED and 10 years of sustainability/ESG reporting, financial or non-financial reporting, audit, internal controls, or enterprise systems implementation
Nice to have:
Demonstrated experience implementing or optimizing sustainability reporting systems and technology platforms, such as Workiva
Experience supporting regulatory and voluntary disclosures, including CSRD, ISSB, TCFD, CDP, SASB, and GRI
Experience designing and documenting data governance frameworks and controls to support audit and assurance requirements
Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex, cross-functional initiatives with minimal oversight
Experience partnering with Digital Technology and Innovation and Finance to align systems, controls, and data architecture
Proven ability to manage external consultants and deliver against defined milestones
