Job Description

The Corporate Sales Unit Head manages multiple teams through other managers. In-depth understanding of how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function. A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Determines approach to implementing functional strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. May be doing involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities.

  • Manage the sales initiatives of a specified client group
  • Originate, structure and execute multi-asset derivative solutions for corporate clients
  • Partner closely with respective internal coverage groups, product groups regionally and globally
  • Proactive and consistent coverage of respective institutions
  • Grow a consistent profitable business platform with respective clients
  • Build senior level relationships with CFOs, Finance Directors, Risk Managers, Treasurers and Assistant Treasurers
  • Grow the sales flow business from the current level
  • Ability to help overall Sales team execute on formulated plan to grow revenues and increase share of wallet
  • Take lead role in fostering an environment of collaboration
  • Understand and analyze clients’ businesses and exposures to provide best suited solutions
  • Work closely with appropriate teams to build and develop a platform for clients
  • Ensure and facilitate optimal discussions with the clients
  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance
  • Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics
  • Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience, including 8-10+ years' managerial experience
  • Proven influencing and relationship management skills
  • Have a good understanding and experience of electronic platforms and corporate risk management
  • Knowledge of CRM systems
  • Experience in sales process and best practices
  • Ability to work in high pressure situations
  • Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred and managerial experience
