Job Description:

Part-time externship program for UNC Charlotte master's students to explore financial risk, analytics, and AI while working with Wells Fargo's Corporate Risk teams including Model Risk Management, Credit Risk Modeling Group, Independent Testing & Validation, and Technology Risk Management.

Job Responsibility:

Code in Python, R, SAS, SQL, or Scala/Spark
Develop and validate models using statistical and machine learning techniques
Collaborate with experts and present insights to stakeholders
Stay current with regulatory frameworks and risk trends
Solve real problems with real data

Requirements:

Enrolled in the Data Science master's program at UNCC with expected graduation date of 2026 or later
Completed undergraduate degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Economics/Econometrics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, or related quantitative field
6+ months of work experience or equivalent through training, military experience, or education
Experience in data analytics, modeling, statistical inference, computing, big data analytics, Artificial Intelligence
Programming skills in Python, SAS, SQL, and/or Scala/Spark
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure
Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business areas

Nice to have:

Courses in model risk management, text mining and/or information retrieval
Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and risk trends
