Job Description:

We are seeking a Corporate Portfolio Manager to join our team and take charge of a broad portfolio of incorporated clients. This is a senior position ideal for someone who is both technically strong and passionate about client service. You will lead on delivering accounting and advisory services, ensuring compliance and high-quality outputs.

Job Responsibility:

  • Overseeing a portfolio of clients: manage a portfolio primarily consisting of incorporated SMEs, act as main point of contact, build and maintain strong long-term client relationships
  • Financial reporting and compliance: prepare and review financial statements, annual accounts, tax returns, periodic management reports, ensure accuracy and compliance with UK accounting standards and tax regulations, meet reporting deadlines
  • Strategic advisory: provide strategic financial insights to clients, advise on tax planning, cash flow management, business planning
  • Client relationship management: serve as trusted adviser, handle day-to-day queries, conduct client meetings, present findings, ensure client satisfaction
  • Team leadership and mentoring: supervise and mentor a team of junior accountants and trainees, review their work, provide guidance and training, foster professional development
  • Quality control and compliance: take responsibility for quality of work, implement review processes, ensure compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS and latest tax legislation
  • Continuous improvement: work with directors and senior management to identify opportunities to improve internal processes or enhance client service experience

Requirements:

  • ACA or ACCA Qualified
  • Practice and Managerial Experience: previous experience in an accountancy practice environment, track record of managing a portfolio of corporate clients, proven experience in a senior role supervising staff and reviewing work, ideally as an Accounts Manager or Client Manager
  • Technical skills: strong knowledge of UK accounting standards (UK GAAP and/or IFRS) and good understanding of tax compliance
  • Software proficiency: proficient in Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage
  • Leadership and mentoring: excellent leadership qualities
  • Client-focused communication: exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and organised: strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, well organised
  • Business acumen: commercial awareness
  • Audit experience (desirable)
