A highly respected international law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support both corporate M&A and litigation practices. This firm will train on litigation, as they have two senior secretaries on the team. M&A expertise is required. This role is 4 days on site in Costa Mesa, 1 day remote.
Job Responsibility
Prepare and organize M&A signature packets
Assist with compiling and distributing transaction documents
Format complex corporate documents, including tables of contents using Styles
Support attorneys and paralegals on corporate transactions
Draft, format, revise, and proofread pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs, and correspondence
Coordinate state and federal court filings
Maintain attorney calendars and track court deadlines
Assist with trial preparation, including witness coordination and trial materials
Open new client matters, coordinate conflicts checks, and prepare engagement documentation
Requirements
7+ years of legal assistant experience, preferably in a law firm environment
Experience preparing M&A signature packets
Advanced document formatting skills, including proficiency with Styles and table of contents formatting
