Job Description:

We are looking for a technically excellent and ambitious corporate lawyer with between 2 and 5 years’ PQE keen to take on a rewarding associate role within a leading Corporate team.

Job Responsibility:

  • Front-line support of deals, including drafting and negotiating documents, control of due diligence and disclosure exercises and closings, managing projects to a budget, and taking responsibility for client delivery and satisfaction
  • General corporate advisory work to provide continuing relationships with clients
  • Engaging in business development activities and being active in the promotion of the Firm and seeking opportunities for new work principally through (a) peer-to-peer relationship building within clients and intermediaries and (b) involvement in our key industry sector activities (consumer
  • industrials
  • pharma/healthcare) and (c) helping with pitch documentation and attending pitch meetings where appropriate
  • Working as part of a team including assisting with the supervision of junior lawyers’ work, and taking an active part in sharing knowledge and experience with the team.

Requirements:

  • Qualified lawyer with excellent academic credentials
  • Current international and/or UK M&A experience in the corporate department of a leading firm
  • First rate technical skills needed to support the client work of the department Commerciality
  • Business development experience
  • Excellent written communication and drafting skills
  • Initiative and proactivity
  • Maturity and gravitas
  • Strong service orientation - a "client first" approach
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with clients and to take responsibility for this relationship
