Job Description

A highly regarded, full service law firm with a strong national and international presence is seeking a mid level Corporate Development Associate for its San Diego office. This role involves sophisticated transactional work for both private and public company clients, with direct responsibility for drafting and negotiating principal acquisition agreements. California Bar admission is required. Attorneys currently based in Los Angeles or San Francisco who are open to relocating to the San Diego area will also be considered, relocation assistance is available.

Job Responsibility

  • Draft and negotiate principal acquisition agreements and related transaction documents
  • Manage complex M&A transactions from inception through closing
  • Support senior attorneys on deal strategy, client communication, and legal analysis
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legal standards throughout each engagement

Requirements

  • 4–6 years of M&A transactional experience with private and public companies
  • Big Law or boutique M&A firm background, directly transferable skills required
  • Strong drafting and negotiation experience on principal acquisition agreements
  • Active California Bar admission
  • Strong academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school
  • Consistent tenure, demonstrated stability across prior roles
