The Sr. Controls and Automation Project Manager is a key leadership and execution role for delivering outcomes that are aligned with the Roofing and Asphalt portfolio. This role is responsible for developing and ensuring the execution of the Controls & Automation workstreams of capital projects that will reengineer and or eliminate job duties, drive future of work initiatives, and develop consistent, repeatable processes that do not require significant human interaction. Common duties will be leading the definition of new application requirements & updating existing applications based on functional requirements; providing cost/benefit tradeoff analysis to management; Prototyping, designing, integrating, and testing robotic and automation systems; deploying automation systems to the manufacturing floor and assuring effective training for operations and maintenance. This role owns the overall success for all aspects of capital projects (start to finish) and is accountable to ensure the business outcomes of the projects are realized and sustainable. A successful Controls and Automation Engineer provides leadership through efficient management of resources, synchronization of project management concepts and effective communication to all stake holders are central accountabilities to this role.

Manage Relationships with Internal & External Partners, building and growing external partners’ capacity to augment achievement of business outcomes and provide innovative solutions
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical, electrical, robotics, control or computer engineering or equivalent and 10-15 years in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated technical and leadership skills. Master’s degree preferred. Must have very broad background including hands on experience with PLCs/HMI, drives, robots, motion controls and associated programming software as well as technical project management. Travel: 30 – 45%. PLC/Safety PLC/Safety Validation Programming/HMI programming/troubleshooting and support, including drives and line drive systems. (Rockwell and Siemens). Project Leadership – previous execution of small to large scale projects, possibly including initiatives with global reach, technology, processes, cross-functional teams and partner team members, PMI certification preferred. Partner Relationships – experience with cross-functional teams that include third party expertise. Aptitude to build strategic and execution-focused plans and alliances with partner leadership. Project Management Science / Capability – training and application of industry best practice processes and tools regarding the effective management of projects, including, but not limited to, scope, schedule, cost, risk, resource, and issue management. Strong Communications – effective planning and execution of communications for stakeholders, both written and verbal. Business Acumen – experience with business operations
