Job Description:

T-Mobile has an exciting opportunity for an attorney with exceptional analytical and communication skills and a talent for creative problem-solving to provide financial services and operations guidance to our dynamic business teams. A successful candidate will be ready to jump into action, working closely with experts across the legal department and business partners to provide practical, strategic legal guidance and design and implement creative, simple solutions to address complex legal and technological challenges.

Job Responsibility:

  • Advise the company on laws, regulations, obligations, and industry standards impacting the growing T-Mobile financial services portfolio and ongoing financial operations
  • Provide counsel on and guide T-Mobile’s programmatic approach (e.g., through policies and training) to various financial regulations applicable to consumer credit, payments, banking, and other financial services
  • Develop strong business partnerships to help guide business strategies and products
  • Draft and negotiate related provisions in commercial contracts as needed
  • Analyze potentially impactful legislation and regulations and provide subject matter expertise to T-Mobile’s Government Affairs team
  • Propel other department and team initiatives as assigned

Requirements:

  • 3+ years as an in-house, top law firm, or government attorney with relevant experience
  • JD from an ABA-accredited university with outstanding academic credentials
  • Current bar membership (in good standing) in at least one U.S. state
  • Experience with financial services, fintech partnerships, card programs, and related regulations (e.g., collections, bankruptcy, PCI, BSA/AML, electronic payments, Reg Y) preferred
  • Strong aptitude and enthusiasm for learning new areas and technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and advise on highly complex, high-impact matters and navigate ambiguity
  • Demonstrated ability to establish self as subject matter expert in specialty field(s)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interact with a range of personalities and roles across the business with executive maturity
  • Ability to navigate a complex organization with a focus on delivering results efficiently
