As a Corporate Banking Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting senior bankers in managing client relationships, executing transactions, driving origination, and ensuring disciplined risk management across the portfolio. The Corporate Banking Associate is a client‑facing execution and analytical role responsible for supporting relationship management and transaction execution for a portfolio of corporate clients. The Associate will partner closely with senior bankers, product partners, and risk teams to deliver high‑quality advice, credit analysis, and operational excellence. This role provides broad exposure to corporate finance, capital structure analysis, credit underwriting, and cross‑product banking solutions within a global financial institution.
Job Responsibility:
Support Senior Relationship Managers in managing a portfolio of Benelux-based corporates, contributing to the development and execution of relationship strategies
Prepare client materials including pitch books, financial updates, industry analysis, and internal briefing notes
Coordinate across product partners to deliver integrated solutions
Participate in client meetings, calls, and internal deal teams, acting as a key execution partner
Perform financial analysis, cash flow modeling, and credit assessment in support of lending, revolver, term loan, and structured finance transactions
Assist in the preparation of credit applications, annual reviews, and risk memos in accordance with Citi risk standards
Analyze capital structures, liquidity profiles, covenant packages, and return metrics
Support deal execution from origination through closing, including documentation coordination and internal approvals
Partner with Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Operations to ensure transactions meet internal and regulatory requirements
Contribute to sector and market analysis to identify opportunities for new client acquisition or wallet growth
Assist in tracking pipeline activity, revenues, and returns on capital
Support internal initiatives related to process improvement, portfolio optimization, or regulatory deliverables
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
Ideally 2-6 years of relevant experience in Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Credit, Leveraged Finance, or Commercial Banking
