Job Description

A full service law firm with offices across Florida is seeking a Corporate Tax Legal Assistant to join their Miami team.

Job Responsibility

  • Create, edit, spell check, and proofread work products to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Transcribe from tapes, handwritten materials, and dictation
  • Prepare various forms and create new documents using the Firm's Best Practice methods
  • Schedule and maintain timekeepers' calendars
  • Input, review, edit, and close timekeepers' time entries
  • Handle monthly client billing
  • Prepare timekeepers' expense reports
  • Open new matters and generate client conflict checks
  • Set up and maintain timekeeper's work paper and electronic files
  • Index and prepare files for off-site storage
  • Print and organize documents received in multiple formats
  • Answer the telephone and take messages
  • Arrange for video conferencing and set up conference calls
  • Seek to maximize productivity and promote teamwork
  • Maintain confidentiality of Firm and client information
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Law firm experience preferred
  • Billing experience, including electronic billing, is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Strong typing skills, excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and good organizational and analytical skills
  • Flexible and the ability to deal well with changing assignments and priorities
  • Flexible for overtime.
