Job Description:

RBC BlueBay, a global credit investment platform with a strong reputation in the market, is seeking to add an experienced Leveraged Finance Analyst to its London-based office. This position will be central to the team’s work on high yield bonds, leveraged loans and CLOs, with the successful candidate expected to bring a strong technical foundation and the ability to evaluate complex credit opportunities. The role will involve detailed financial modelling, credit assessment, and active participation in investment decision-making across a range of sectors. Given the lean structure of the team, the new hire will gain immediate visibility and responsibility, working closely with senior investors on live transactions. RBC’s expectation is that all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.

Job Responsibility:

  • Analysis of potential investee companies, covering a range of different company sizes and a variety of industry sectors
  • Analysing historic and forecast financial statements
  • Preparing integrated financial models and conducting sensitivity analyses
  • Summarising industry and company specific investment drivers and risks and making recommendations for inclusion in both long-only and long/short funds
  • Meeting management teams to carry out due diligence on investee companies
  • Ongoing monitoring of portfolio holdings
  • Contributing to internal monthly analyst sector groups and interacting with analysts covering the same sectors in other teams at BlueBay to ensure knowledge and expertise is shared
  • Active investment decisions and ongoing monitoring of portfolio holdings
