Requirements

Minimum of ten years of tax experience in state income and local taxation of C-Corps with a public accounting firm and/or multinational corporation
Working knowledge of sales and use tax and other miscellaneous tax filings
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related course of study
Strong work ethic and a desire to learn all aspects of state taxation
Proven capacity for handling multiple tasks, coupled with flexibility and creative problem-solving skills in a time-sensitive environment
Possess strong orientation to detail, assuming ownership of projects and organizing to deliver on deadline

Job Responsibility

Review of state and local income tax filings, including extensions and estimated payments
Review of annual reports, census, property tax and other miscellaneous filings with governmental authorities
Manage Bentley’s sales and use process and address sales tax questions that may require independent research of sales tax laws in various jurisdictions
Manage Bentley’s Canadian GST/HST process, reviewing taxability and overseeing compliance
Handle audits for state, local, sales and use tax, &/or, other
SALT-related adjustments related to the US Federal income tax filings
Analysis of U.S. taxable income and preparation of tax adjustments for US corporate state and local income tax returns, and franchise tax returns
Prepare and/or review quarterly and year-end State tax provision calculations, including tax account reconciliations and roll forwards, as well as resulting journal entries
Continuously look to improve departmental methods for information gathering and analysis through internal and external tools
Assist with the SALT aspects of acquisition due diligence, integrations, compliance, and restructurings
