Job Description:

Sopra Steria, a major Tech player in Europe, is looking for a Core JAVA Module Lead to design, build, and maintain backend services while implementing high-performance APIs. The role involves agile development, continuous delivery, and close collaboration with stakeholders. The candidate should have strong software engineering fundamentals, experience with Java/J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, and a commitment to quality and system uptime.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, build, and maintain new backend services providing high-performance, high-availability APIs to frontend developers and external partners
  • Conduct unit, functional, integration, and other forms of automated testing
  • Help meet aggressive performance and scalability goals
  • Help define the user experience to delight users
  • Maintain system uptime through monitoring and observability
  • Work with multiple stakeholders to ensure system reliability

Requirements:

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals—object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
  • A quality-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to automated testing, metrics collection, monitoring, and continuous improvement
  • Knowledge in Java/J2EE, Spring, and Spring Boot
  • Experience implementing RESTful services with APIs
  • The ability to drive features from conception to deployment in an agile team with continuous delivery
  • Experience working with relational databases
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures
  • Experience in solving complex architecture/design & business problems
