Job Description:

Sopra Steria, a major Tech player in Europe, is looking for a Core JAVA Module Lead to design, build, and maintain backend services while implementing high-performance APIs. The role involves agile development, continuous delivery, and close collaboration with stakeholders. The candidate should have strong software engineering fundamentals, experience with Java/J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot, and a commitment to quality and system uptime.

Job Responsibility:

Design, build, and maintain new backend services providing high-performance, high-availability APIs to frontend developers and external partners
Conduct unit, functional, integration, and other forms of automated testing
Help meet aggressive performance and scalability goals
Help define the user experience to delight users
Maintain system uptime through monitoring and observability
Work with multiple stakeholders to ensure system reliability

Requirements:

Strong software engineering fundamentals—object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
A quality-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to automated testing, metrics collection, monitoring, and continuous improvement
Knowledge in Java/J2EE, Spring, and Spring Boot
Experience implementing RESTful services with APIs
The ability to drive features from conception to deployment in an agile team with continuous delivery
Experience working with relational databases
Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures
Experience in solving complex architecture/design & business problems

Nice to have:

Knowledge in Java/J2EE, Spring, and Spring Boot
A quality-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to automated testing, metrics collection, monitoring, and continuous improvement
