Job Description

Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran (TSX:ELD) is seeking a Core Cutter to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a one-year term position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation. This position is open to candidates who reside within 150 km of the McIlvenna Bay site or who can travel using our company shuttle from Saskatoon or Prince Albert. No additional travel subsidy is provided.

Job Responsibility

  • Cut drill core using core saws following established procedures
  • Label, organize, and store core samples accurately
  • Move and handle core boxes and materials within the core shack
  • Operate basic equipment such as skid steers and forklifts (as trained)
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized core shack
  • Perform basic equipment inspections and routine maintenance of geotechnical equipment
  • Complete drill site inspections as required
  • Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures
  • Assist geotechnicians and geologists with core handling and preparation
  • Assist with field programs as required
  • Support general site and camp duties as required

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • No prior experience required however, experience with core cutting or related activities in a mining or exploration context is an asset
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation
  • Possession of or ability to possess a fork-lift operating licence considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to field sites as required

Nice to have

  • experience with core cutting or related activities in a mining or exploration context
  • Possession of or ability to possess a fork-lift operating licence
