As a Copy Editor at SellCord, you’ll focus on creating Walmart-optimized product titles, descriptions, and features using our AI-assisted tools and processes. You’ll take the lead in ensuring editorial quality control, consistency, and compliance for Walmart Marketplace product listings. The ideal candidate will have experience in marketplace copy, SEO, and D2C ecommerce marketing place platforms. Job Responsibility:
Edit and optimize Walmart Marketplace product listings to ensure clarity, accuracy, consistency, and full alignment with Walmart Marketplace standards, brand voice, and client objectives
Evaluate keyword research and on-page SEO implementation to confirm keywords are correctly prioritized, naturally integrated, and aligned with search intent and marketplace performance goals
Apply strong editorial judgment to ensure all copy complies with Walmart style guides, client brand guidelines, legal and regulatory requirements, and marketplace restrictions before approval
Identify recurring issues and opportunities across copy reviews, translating insights into “brilliant basics,” editorial guidelines, and quality standards that improve consistency and scalability across the team
Provide decisive reviews and constructive feedback to the copy team
Requirements:
Strong expertise in editing and optimizing product listing copy to ensure clarity, accuracy, consistency, and alignment with Walmart Marketplace standards across titles, features, and descriptions
Solid understanding of keyword research and SEO principles, with the ability to evaluate whether keywords are correctly prioritized, naturally integrated, and aligned with search intent
Strong editorial judgment to determine whether copy fully complies with Walmart style guides, client brand guidelines, legal/compliance requirements, and marketplace restrictions
Ability to identify recurring issues and opportunities, proactively creating “brilliant basics,” editorial guidelines, and best practices that elevate the overall quality and consistency of the copy team’s output
Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Copy.ai to support editing, QA checks, and optimization while applying critical thinking to ensure final copy meets quality, compliance, and performance standards
Strong decision-making skills to confidently determine whether copy meets quality, compliance, and marketplace standards, knowing when to approve, revise, or push back
Ability to deliver clear, actionable, and respectful feedback that helps copywriters improve while maintaining a collaborative team environment
Identifies patterns, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement, translating them into best practices and “brilliant basics” for the team
Maintains a high bar for accuracy and consistency, ensuring no copy moves forward without meeting required standards
Works closely with copywriters, account managers, and leadership to align expectations, clarify requirements, and ensure smooth delivery
