The Work-Based Learning (WBL) Coordinator leads the development and implementation of inclusive, high-quality work-based learning opportunities aligned to the district’s Strategic Plan for students in grades PK–12. This role collaborates with district leaders, staff, and community partners to design and expand programs such as internships, apprenticeships, mentorships, and industry-sponsored projects that support students’ Individual Career and Academic Plans (ICAP). The Coordinator ensures equitable access, program quality, and compliance with legal, safety, grant, and Colorado Department of Education requirements while evaluating program effectiveness and strengthening partnerships to advance student career readiness.
Job Responsibility:
Design and manage work-based learning (WBL) programs aligned with Colorado’s WBL Continuum to support quality career pathways districtwide
Identify and engage industry partners to develop a variety of work-based learning opportunities for students
Oversee student internship courses during the school year and summer
Promote and participate in career readiness events like career fairs, virtual chats, parent meetings, and guest speaker sessions
Create and maintain a compliance and tracking system for WBL experiences as required by the CDE
Coordinate regularly with school counselors, Grad Plus Building Leads, and other Grad Plus partners in the district regarding work-based learning activities and initiatives
Support the implementation of system-level processes to ensure each student’s Individual Career and Academic Plan (ICAP) reflects student interests and strengths
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
Demonstrated education and related experience that includes five or more years of experience working with youth
Completed and submitted BVSD online application
Currently hold a Colorado teaching license or have licensure application in process
Currently hold a Colorado principal license or have licensure application in process
Currently hold or be able to obtain the Colorado Secondary CTE Work-Based Learning Coordinator credential within the 2026-2027 school year
Must have a valid driver's license

Proficiency with career exploration resources and assessment tools
