This position coordinates, supports, and works to improve the Centaurus High School Engineering program. This fun and unique department aims to offer an engaging, innovative, and welcoming educational experience for the engineering students of Centaurus High School.
Job Responsibility:
Community Outreach and Connections: Build and maintain strategic partnerships with feeder schools, the University of Colorado, BVSD CTE, and industry professionals to enhance vertical articulation and expand student opportunities
Curriculum, Certifications and Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Administration: Pay the Curriculum provider, PLTW and purchase Certiport vouchers
Program Operations, Budget and Purchasing: Manage multiple department accounts and maintain P‑Card/ProCard access to procure a diverse set of tools, equipment, and materials
Student Real-World Experiences: Sponsor and coordinate clubs and open lab times
Planning and Coordinating Engineering Nights: Back to School Night set-up and presentations
Open Enrollment Night set-up and presentations
IB/Engineering Night set-up and presentations
Awards Night presentation
Lab Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of a diverse fleet of specialized equipment
Administrative and Systems Management: Maintain comprehensive program records, including calendars, PLC documentation, and detailed inventory spreadsheets
Student Support and Advocacy: Provide dedicated support to students by authoring personalized letters of recommendation and managing their submission through Naviance
Departmental Leadership and Environment: Lead the engineering department by planning and facilitating regular meetings and professional learning opportunities
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with a major pertinent to the position requirements: Engineering
Complete and submitted BVSD on-line application
Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English
Nice to have:
Engineering background
Experience teaching engineering or STEM courses with diverse/underrepresented student populations
Bilingual English/Spanish
Maintain a flexible work schedule and be available for after school functions that relate to the engineering department
