Job Description:

The Coordinator, Consumer PR, CALA plays a key role in CALA Communications + PR, serving as day-to-day support for the Consumer PR team. Reporting to the Sr Manager, Consumer PR, the Coordinator will ensure diligent media follow up, respond to media requests, create press materials, oversee activity calendars, provide influencer and media support, and handle administrative tasks such as invoice processing and report submissions. This position will coordinate with cross-functional teams and external agencies to establish seamless information flow and sharing. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate across departments to enhance the company's public presence.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop media materials, including press releases, briefs, pitches and fact sheets
  • Support development of PR angles and storytelling opportunities
  • Support vetting inbound media and influencer requests
  • Coordinate and/or proofread translations
  • Respond to media requests and provide diligent follow-up
  • Support execution of Consumer PR activations, press trips and media events, as needed
  • Develop detailed briefings for influencers participating in campaigns, press trips, or brand activations
  • Support the hotel openings process in collaboration with the Hotel Openings Team, maintaining hotel opening trackers, drafting and reviewing openings releases and other PR materials, ensuring alignment with brand voice and messaging
  • Monitor, compile, and follow up on coverage with media and influencers in coordination with external PR agencies
  • Review and provide feedback on social media content to ensure it aligns with PR objectives and brand guidelines
  • Support tracking and compiling coverage, activities, etc. for various reports
  • Prepare and submit weekly PR reports to various stakeholders, including the weekly CALA update, weekly key media coverage summary
  • Monitor, update, and review the public relations team’s monthly activity calendar
  • Maintain and update the CALA media contact list
  • Stay up to date on media trends, emerging platforms and key journalists/influencers
  • Manage invoice processing and payment follow-up for expenses related to press trips, influencer activations, and other PR initiatives
  • Maintain Consumer PR Teams channel, organized documentation, and contribute to the optimization of internal PR workflows
  • Support completion of executive briefs in collaboration with Corporate Comms team
  • Monitor the CALA Press Mailbox
  • Create presentations for senior leaders, as needed
  • Support coordination of PR team Meetings, as needed

Requirements:

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in communications, journalism or public relations
  • 2+ years communications-related experience in an agency/corporate/brand/hotel environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish
  • Familiarity with popular consumer and industry relevant media outlets in the US and CALA
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • High degree of integrity and confidentiality
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Agility to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel
