We are seeking a Coordinator, Communications to support marketplace amplification for Disney Advertising across Sports, Addressable/Data and Measurement, and Entertainment. • Identify and proactively pitch Disney’s leadership for key industry events, thought leadership opportunities, and earned media stories
  • Research, update, and maintain trade and business editorial, awards, and events calendars
  • Help prepare and submit corporate and executive awards entries, while keeping the team apprised of timely upcoming opportunities for submission
  • Conduct comprehensive research and vetting of industry conference and speaking opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to plan, support logistics on, and execute Disney Advertising’s presence at events
  • Build and maintain strong communication and relationships with internal departments including Sales, Client Solutions and Operations, Networks, Streaming and Technology PR teams
  • Support Communications team with the development and distribution of press materials, key messages, Q&A documents, and identify unique and creative ways to disseminate news both through written word and visually
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists, online influencers, and key internal stakeholders
  • Help maintain clips and coverage database, while supporting overall reporting and tracking of key business announcements and earned media performance

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working in public relations and/or journalism and marketing communications
  • Experience working in corporate communications, PR, journalism, or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and writing skills, with demonstrated ability to deliver information effectively and rapidly to audiences and constituents both internally and externally, for a multi-business global company
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Excel
  • Working knowledge of the media, streaming and advanced advertising space, and an interest and understanding of the data-driven marketing, technology, and addressable advertising spaces across Sports and Entertainment
  • Curiosity and a driven work ethic, with the ability to distill difficult, and at times complex subject matter, and make them easily translatable
  • Experience working with senior-level leadership/executives and proactively pitching and/or finding opportunities for thought leadership moments for designated spokespeople, while supporting a bench of subject matter experts
  • A "can-do" approach and attentive professional demeanor, in support of a fast-paced, dynamic, and high-stakes business
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Communications, Journalism, or Public Relations or equivalent work experience
