Carleton Dining Services would love to have you on our team! We are hiring full-time and part-time Cooks to join our team in the Teraanga Commons Dining Hall on Carleton University campus. Our Cooks are responsible for preparing high-quality food, sometimes in front of the customer at action stations, and will require strong customer service skills.
Job Responsibility:
Cook food following recipes for a high-volume kitchen
Ensure adherence to recipes to meet any dietary requirements
Take culinary lead on the floor within the location
Ensure consistent quality, preparation, and presentation of food
Provide courteous, professional customer service at all times
Assist with controlling waste and spoilage
Assist with culinary auditing, and food safety measures
Assist with weekly inventory
Maintain continual cleaning and sanitizing of surrounding work area
Ensure adherence to all of Aramark Policies and Procedures
May perform other job duties as required
Requirements:
Experience in the Culinary field
Experience with basic food preparation and various cooking methods
Knowledge of food, sanitization, and health and safety standards
Excellent communication skills
Ability to prioritize tasks
Problem solving
Planning and organizing skills
Enjoy working with others in a team setting
Must complete and successfully pass a Criminal Background Check
