Aramark Canada is currently seeking a Cook 2 to join the Dalhousie Food Services team! Reporting to the Supervisor, the Cook 2 is responsible for preparing, cooking and serving menu and made to order items to residence students.

Job Responsibility

  • Assures quality, courteous customer service is provided to all customers
  • Preps, cooks and serves made to order items on the grill
  • Uses grille, fryers, and ovens
  • Ability to prepare cooked fruit
  • Ability to prepare egg based dishes including process ingredients and finishing
  • Process cheese, dairy and plant-based dairy alternative ingredients
  • Prepares pastas and noodles
  • Make decision on selecting, cooking, and finishing poultry dishes
  • Prepare Seafood
  • Prepares snacks and other finger foods
  • Prepares batter based products
  • Maintains continual cleaning and sanitizing of surrounding work area
  • Assists with culinary auditing, temperature checking of food items within kitchen, stations, fridge’s and freezers
  • Ensure adherence to Aramark’s Policies and Procedures
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Ability to execute all duties under Food Service Worker Classification
  • 1-2 years Culinary experience required
  • Valid WHMIS, Food Safe Advanced Certification, First Aid Certification considered an asset
  • Must be able to work effectively and efficiently, supervised and unsupervised
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull min. 35 lbs
