Job Description:

Our cooks are the real heartbeat of our homes, providing personalised menu choices suitable for our residents' needs and desires. You’ll get to know our residents and their personal preferences, dietary requirements and be able to tailor our food offerings as part of our bespoke care packages.

Job Responsibility:

  • Promote high standard of food hygiene and cleanliness
  • Maintain high standard of food preparation
  • Implement requirements of Food Safety Act and Food Hygiene Regulations
  • Ensure kitchen conforms to Health and Safety at Work
  • Implement and review hygiene standards
  • Maintain kitchen equipment
  • Prepare food according to menu specifications
  • Monitor food cooking and presentation
  • Follow company stock and order system
  • Check food deliveries for quality and temperature
  • Maintain well-balanced nutritious diet considering dietary needs
  • Take residents' menu choices daily
  • Conform to food hygiene policy
  • Implement kitchen cleaning schedule
  • Maintain and check first aid equipment in kitchen
  • Attend staff meetings and training
  • Plan special events with management
  • Aid care staff in meal preparation
  • Assist in company Quality Audit
  • Read, understand, and adhere to company policies

Requirements:

  • Understanding of the importance of food to physical and mental wellbeing
  • Passion to provide nutritious meals
  • Ability to tailor food offerings to residents' personal preferences and dietary requirements
  • Knowledge of the Food Safety Act 1990 and the Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2005
  • Ability to maintain kitchen equipment
  • Ability to follow company stock and order system
  • Ability to check food deliveries for quality and correct temperature
  • Ability to maintain a well-balanced nutritious diet considering special dietary needs
  • Ability to adhere to food hygiene policy and personal appearance standards
  • Ability to implement cleaning schedule
  • Willingness to attend staff meetings and training sessions
  • Ability to read, understand, and adhere to all company policies
