Job Description:

As a Cook at JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa, you will prepare high-quality meals and ensure a clean and organized kitchen area. This role involves operating kitchen equipment, adhering to safety standards, and working collaboratively with the team.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food
Cook food according to recipes and standards
Operate ovens, stoves, and other kitchen equipment
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen area and equipment
Monitor food quality
Follow safety policies and procedures
Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times
Support team to meet common goals.

Requirements:

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food
Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients
Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation standards
Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers
Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
Monitor food quality while preparing food
Set-up and break down work station
Wash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
Lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
1 year of related work experience.
