Job Description

Morphett Vale Early Learning Centre is seeking an experienced Cook to join our warm and supportive team, preparing fresh, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 66 children each day. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of your kitchen, bring creativity to menu planning, and contribute to a positive early learning environment where children are nurtured and well cared for. This is a Part-Time role working 25 hours per week from Monday to Friday in a friendly centre where your work is valued and your contribution truly matters.

Job Responsibility

  • preparing fresh, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 66 children each day
  • take ownership of your kitchen, bring creativity to menu planning, and contribute to a positive early learning environment where children are nurtured and well cared for
  • prepare balanced, healthy meals and snacks daily, catering to allergies and individual dietary needs, while following nutritional guidelines designed to support growing bodies and active minds

Requirements

  • Experienced in Menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering & control
  • Experienced in dietary and allergy safe requirements
  • Experienced in ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment in accordance with the relevant Food Safety regulations
  • Be a Team Player with great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be available for set shift days and times Monday to Friday
  • A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification and experience in a cook role
  • A current Working with Children's Check
  • Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
