Job Description

The Cook will be responsible for preparing food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining strong organizational skills to handle job duties quickly and effectively. The Cook must be a team player, adhere to safety procedures, and be comfortable working in a kitchen with high heat levels.

Job Responsibility

  • Set up stations and gather all necessary supplies for menu preparation
  • Prepare a variety of food items including meat, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and cold food items
  • Properly label and date food items for storage
  • Maintain sufficient levels of food products to ensure a smooth service period
  • Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen and walk-in coolers
  • Consistently comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
  • Use food preparation tools following manufacturer instructions
  • Close the kitchen correctly, following the closing checklist for kitchen stations
  • Maintain and sanitize work areas, coolers, and storage spaces
  • Assist with additional responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Ensure all storage areas are tidy, and products are appropriately stored
  • Adhere to safe and hygienic food handling practices
  • Return dirty food preparation utensils to designated areas
  • Assist with any other tasks as assigned by the Executive Sous Chef

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older to apply
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Current ServSafe certification required
  • At least 3 years of experience in food service and meal preparation
  • Ability to produce quality food in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and customer service orientation
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Strong knowledge of sanitary practices
  • Maintain proper grooming and dress code standards
  • Ability to work well with other staff members in the facility
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
