The Cook will be responsible for preparing food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining strong organizational skills to handle job duties quickly and effectively. The Cook must be a team player, adhere to safety procedures, and be comfortable working in a kitchen with high heat levels.
Job Responsibility:
Set up stations and gather all necessary supplies for menu preparation
Prepare a variety of food items including meat, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and cold food items
Properly label and date food items for storage
Maintain sufficient levels of food products to ensure a smooth service period
Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of the kitchen and walk-in coolers
Consistently comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
Use food preparation tools following manufacturer instructions
Close the kitchen correctly, following the closing checklist for kitchen stations
Maintain and sanitize work areas, coolers, and storage spaces
Assist with additional responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef
Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
Ensure all storage areas are tidy, and products are appropriately stored
Adhere to safe and hygienic food handling practices
Return dirty food preparation utensils to designated areas
Assist with any other tasks as assigned by the Executive Sous Chef
Requirements:
Must be 18 years or older to apply
High school diploma or GED required
Current ServSafe certification required
At least 3 years of experience in food service and meal preparation
Ability to produce quality food in a fast-paced environment
Positive attitude and customer service orientation
Strong work ethic and reliability
Strong knowledge of sanitary practices
Maintain proper grooming and dress code standards
Ability to work well with other staff members in the facility
Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
Strong attention to detail
Must be available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
