Job Description:

Cook's Helper position at Sheraton Shanghai Waigaoqiao Hotel requiring culinary preparation and cleaning responsibilities while following safety and company policies

Job Responsibility:

Communicate assistance needs during busy periods to Chef
Notify manager if a product does not meet specifications
Check and ensure the correctness of appliance and food temperatures
Monitor quantity of prepared food and portions served
Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and garnish of food
Serve food in proper portions onto receptacles
Set-up, clean, and break down work station
Wash and disinfect kitchen area including tables, tools, knives, and equipment
Prepare ingredients for cooking including portioning, chopping, and storing
Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
Prepare and cook food
Follow company safety and security policies and procedures
Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager
Complete safety training and certifications
Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
Protect company assets
Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards
Speak with others using clear and professional language
Develop and maintain positive working relationships
Support team to reach common goals
Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
Reach overhead and below knees including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
No related work experience
No supervisory experience
No license or certification
