Job Description:

The Cook III position involves preparing and cooking a variety of food items while following recipes, quality standards, and safety procedures. The role includes responsibilities such as weighing, measuring, and preparing ingredients, testing and serving food, setting up and breaking down workstations, and maintaining cleanliness. As part of The Ritz-Carlton team, you will uphold the brand’s Gold Standards and deliver exceptional luxury service.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food
  • Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes and standards
  • Prepare cold foods
  • Operate kitchen appliances such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers
  • Test foods to ensure they are sufficiently cooked
  • Monitor food quality during preparation
  • Set-up and break down work station
  • Serve food in proper portions
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen area, equipment, and tools
  • Check the temperature of appliances and food
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance
  • Develop positive working relationships
  • Report maintenance needs, accidents, or unsafe conditions to manager
  • Comply with quality expectations and standards.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • At least 1 year of related work experience
  • No supervisory experience required
  • Ability to prepare ingredients and cook food according to recipes and standards
  • Ability to operate kitchen appliances like ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers
  • Physical ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
  • Capability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Compliance with company safety and security policies and procedures.
