Job Description:

Mortimer House School provides a full curriculum experience for up to 21 students, from the ages of 11 to 18. Our Approach to education is to inspire and engage our students through a wide range of positive learning experiences. Through this curriculum out go is that students are able to develop self-esteem and personal resilience. Our school ethos believes in showing respect for one another, which results in a happy school community.

Job Responsibility:

  • Start day as cook and finish with housekeeping duties
  • Preparation of cooking and service of food and beverages accommodating any special dietary requirements and following agreed menus
  • Packing of meals for transport to other locations where appropriate
  • Control of the servery, washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables and cleaning of the kitchen, surrounding area and equipment
  • Receipt and safe storage of goods, stock control, stocktaking and completion of monitoring sheets reporting any discrepancies to the Headteacher
  • Maintaining high standard of cleanliness throughout the building as directed by the Head Teacher
  • Safe use, handling and storage of all COSHH related agents and reporting any maintenance issues
  • Always follow food hygiene and safety regulations
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of food storage temperatures, cleaning rotas, and stock levels
  • Ensure that cleaning aids are restocked as appropriate at the end of a shift and cleaning cupboards are left clean and tidy
  • Take responsibility of ensuring we are always fully stocked and to inform the Head Teacher as and when required
