Job Description:

The Cook CD - Skilled is responsible for preparing cooked foods, and must be able to perform all station functions of Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry, and cooking eggs; communicating ticket times and potential problems to the manager on duty and servers as necessary; performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or assigned management of which associate is capable of performing; providing the highest quality of service to customers and associates at all times. This is a non-exempt position.

Job Responsibility:

  • preparing cooked foods
  • performing all station functions of Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry, and cooking eggs
  • communicating ticket times and potential problems to the manager on duty and servers
  • following recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items
  • tasting products, following menus, estimating food requirements, checking production and keeping records
  • cleaning and sanitizing work stations and equipment
  • practicing excellent food safety and sanitation practices and complying with HACCP standards
  • operating a variety of kitchen equipment
  • measuring and mixing ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruits and vegetables
  • stocking, dating, rotating, and checking temperature of product

Requirements:

  • food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
  • minimum of 3 years of closely related cooking experience in high volume or fast casual dining restaurant environment
  • food knowledge pertaining to Sauces, Soups, Sauté, Broiler, Fry, and Pantry
  • ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents
  • ability to converse comfortably with individuals
  • ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
