Controls Technician

• Identifying and diagnosing BAS operational and control issues, recommending appropriate corrective actions
• Meeting with tenants and clients regarding BAS issues and remedial actions, if required
• Working closely with the Chief Building Engineer to ensure the Access Control System functions properly
• Diagnosing issues with the Access Control System and recommend appropriate actions
• Working closely with subcontractors and subtrades as required
• Performing software/hardware calibration required for proper equipment and system operation
• Reporting any BAS deficiencies between design build documents and actuals
• Liaising with contractors to commission and startup the Building Automation Systems for any new builds
• Completing project commissioning documentation for owner if required
• Maintaining on‐going project as‐built documentation
• Assisting the Chief or Owner if equipment trending is required
• Providing training and information to colleagues on BAS to ensure appropriate levels of cross-training
• Working safely and in adherence to all OH&S legislation and regulations
• Reporting unusual situations to the Chief Building Engineer
• Maintaining clear and orderly work areas

• 2+ years of commercial controls experience, including HVAC systems, DDC systems, software, and device calibration
• Relevant technical degree or diploma
• Knowledge of Distech controls systems would be a strong asset
• Excellent communication, customer service skills and team player
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Valid driver’s license
