As Controls Technical Specialist I, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining and enhancing the accuracy, reliability and system control’s data credibility of PLC and PC-based automation systems, including our automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) and packaging equipment. The first two months of this role will focus on our ways of working and understanding Nestlé Purina control systems. The initial schedule will be Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. for training. After training, this position will be on a night shift 6:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m., operating on a 2-2-3 schedule model (Week 1: two days on, two days off, three days on; Week 2: two days off, two days on, three days off).
Job Responsibility
Perform troubleshooting of automation systems including PLC (Allen Bradley, Beckhoff) and HMI/SCADA software (Ignition, Aveva)
Provide hardware support to the maintenance staff focused on packaging lines and warehouse operations (ASRS)
Perform troubleshooting of Fanuc robots, servo motion (Kinetix, SEW-Eurodrive), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and process electrical and power distribution in support of the maintenance staff
Install program and troubleshooting instrumentation for level, weight, temperature, pressure and flow to support the maintenance staff
Execute plant and capital projects from conception to completion as assigned
Maintain an up-to-date and complete set of as-built electrical and controls documentations
Coordinate and implement control system software upgrades
Perform network administration and data administration tasks for networked, PC-based control systems and related equipment
Develop, read and interpret all electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and programs essential to plant operation
Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent with at least 3 years of applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PC-based HMI systems
Associate’s degree in a technical discipline with at least one (1) year of applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PC-based HMI systems
