Job Description:

This role provides engineering support for facilities systems with a focus on process optimization, system design, operations, and maintenance for a major financial client's domestic and international portfolio. The position combines strong technical expertise in Building Automation Systems and HVAC controls with hands-on troubleshooting and programming skills. Based in Malvern, PA, this engineer will ensure reliability and efficient operation of mission-critical office and data center environments while supporting the client's Global Engineering department.

Job Responsibility:

  • Program and troubleshoot Building Automation Systems including DDC controllers, field devices, and HVAC control sequences
  • Install, replace, and commission DDC controllers while utilizing LonWorks and BACnet communication protocols
  • Conduct testing, calibration, and system commissioning for building automation equipment and controls
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive libraries of Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Methods of Procedures (MOPs)
  • Create and modify building graphics for automation systems while implementing and maintaining alarm standards
  • Provide end-user training on building automation systems and controls operation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve controls issues while implementing system improvements to maintain BAS continuity
  • Coordinate with vendors, facilities staff, and service providers to ensure seamless work execution with minimal client disruption
  • Support project management teams and continuously improve processes to enhance overall client satisfaction

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in controls programming with LonWorks and BACnet protocols
  • Strong understanding of HVAC equipment operation and control sequences
  • Niagara 4 Certification required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational abilities with attention to detail
  • Self-starter capable of working in fast-paced, high-volume environments
  • Availability for off-hours and weekend work as required

Nice to have:

  • Technical/vocational/trade school training or college degree
  • Experience with mission-critical facility environments (data centers, financial institutions)
  • Background in software engineering and commissioning tools for building automation
  • Experience supporting global engineering operations and international portfolios
