The role of the controls engineer intern is to assist experienced engineers with design projects, designing code, electrical drawings, programming and integration of automated systems.
Job Responsibility:
Support control system development for custom automation equipment, including PLC and PC‑based systems, under guidance from senior engineers
Assist with troubleshooting electrical and control-related issues during system build and testing phases
Gain hands-on exposure to automation technologies such as PLCs, HMIs, robots, vision systems, and databases.
Participate with project and CAPEX teams to learn how customer-specific automation solutions are designed and deployed.
Learn and follow ATS controls standards, including both new and legacy platforms.
Help document hardware / software activities, including contributing to technical documentation.
Work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating professionalism and accountability in assigned tasks
Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in electrical, controls, computer engineering or equivalent
Foundational knowledge of controls / electrical engineering principles
Demonstrates good communication and problem-solving skills.
