Controls and Instrumentation Engineer – Instrumentation and Data Systems

• Develop and maintain LabVIEW Real Time applications and LabVIEW FPGA targets
• Implement FPGA logic and integrate FPGA targets into RT control systems
• FPGA HDL (VHDL/Verilog) experience is optional — LabVIEW FPGA experience acceptable
• Write low level drivers from scratch and provide C/C++ wrappers for higher level integration
• Design, implement and maintain Python test suites and automation for unit, integration and system tests (examples: pytest, unittest, robotframework, behave)
• Integrate test automation with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) — automated builds, unit tests, hardware in the loop (HIL) runs, artifact management and deploy stages
• Establish and enforce revision control workflows (Git branching strategies, PR reviews, tagging, release branches, Git LFS/submodules for large files)
• Implement robust debugging and root cause analysis across SW/HW: log aggregation, core dumps, trace capture, oscilloscope/logic analyzer workflows, FPGA ILA, JTAG and serial consoles
• Implement reliable IPC/data transfer mechanisms (TCP/IP sockets, named pipes, FIFOs, shared memory) for telemetry and command channels
• Design and tune control loops (PID, cascade, feedforward) for structural and dynamic tests
• Perform sensor calibration, accuracy and uncertainty analysis
• produce calibration procedures and verification reports
• Work with ratio-metric and other sensors
• Integrate and test avionics/industrial communication protocols: ARINC 664/AFDX, ARINC 429, MIL STD 1553, RS 232/485, CAN, Ethernet
• Implement and validate timing and synchronization protocols (NTP, PTP/IEEE 1588, TSN)
• ensure deterministic timestamping across distributed systems
• Maintain databases for configuration and time series test data (SQL and/or time series DBs)
• ensure efficient storage and retrieval
• Provide troubleshooting and lab support
• create clear technical documentation, test plans, release notes and postmortems

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical ,Material Sciences , or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
• Have a good understanding of complex architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for avionics systems
• Well verse in Control System architecture, experience in Plant model creation (preferable)
• Debugging and bug fixes and resolving complex problems by using Test Benches simulations
• Hands on experience and knowledge on test engineering application software such as NI LabVIEW, LabVIEW Real Time and LabVIEW FPGA
• Experience in using Python for instrument communication
• Experience in using C, C#, VB for instrument communication
• Experience with hardware/software integration is a must
• Extensive knowledge and experience on test discipline, test strategy, test authoring and review
• Should be strong in Good knowledge on various types of measurement and test equipment is a must (dimensional, electrical, electronic, thermal, etc)
• Experience in managing Software code repositories and Continuous Integration/Deployment is highly desirable
• Contribute in the development, selection, tailoring and deployment of processes, tools and metrics
• Provide new product/lean-process ideas and contribute to deploy them
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability and willingness to work with a global teams, at flexible hours

• Must be flexible, with a high tolerance for organizational complexity and ability to work with team members across different cultures and time-zones
