Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Coralville, Iowa. This is a long-term contract position requiring a hands-on individual who excels in financial management and accounting within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will report directly to the Vice President of Finance and play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial operations and compliance.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee and manage month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Handle sales and use tax filings and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
Manage manufacturing and inventory accounting operations, ensuring proper tracking and reporting
Collaborate with the VP of Finance to provide strategic financial insights and recommendations
Utilize accounting software (In4 or similar systems) to maintain accurate financial records and streamline processes
Supervise and guide document control procedures, including scanning and compiling essential financial documents
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in financial operations within the manufacturing sector
Provide detailed financial reports and analyses to support decision-making and business strategy
Maintain organized and secure documentation for auditing and regulatory purposes
Develop and implement improvements to financial workflows and processes

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Controller or similar role, preferably in the manufacturing industry
Strong expertise in month-end close processes and financial reporting
Proficiency in managing sales and use tax filings and regulatory compliance
Solid understanding of manufacturing and inventory accounting practices
Familiarity with accounting software such as In4 or equivalent tools
Excellent document control skills, including scanning and compiling financial records
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
