We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead the financial operations of our dynamic organization in Plymouth, Minnesota. This role offers the opportunity to oversee key accounting functions, manage compliance, and contribute to strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and a detail-oriented approach to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of all financial processes.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee the daily activities of the accounting department, including the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with U.S. regulations
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a supportive and detail-oriented work environment
Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and complete financial records
Handle accounting for finished goods and raw materials inventories, ensuring proper valuation and tracking
Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy
Monitor cash flow, reconcile bank accounts monthly, and assist with invoice processing and payments
Collaborate with internal teams to enhance financial processes and drive operational improvements
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and oversee the preparation and submission of tax returns
Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate timely and efficient audits
Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to senior management to support strategic planning
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related financial role
Proficiency in preparing and analyzing financial statements, including consolidated reports
Strong expertise in cost accounting, particularly in a manufacturing environment
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas and pivot tables
Experience with month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Strong understanding of tax compliance and reporting requirements
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders
Proven ability to lead and develop a team while managing multiple priorities
