Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join a high-tech electronics organization in Rogers, Minnesota on a Long-term Contract basis. This role will lead core accounting and finance activities while helping the business strengthen profitability, planning, and reporting across operations. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, a hands-on leadership style, and the ability to turn complex financial information into practical recommendations for management.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the daily work of the accounting function, providing direction and support to a team that includes accountants as well as accounts payable and accounts receivable staff
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling activities, with particular focus on cost accounting for both standardized equipment and customized machine builds
  • Consolidate financial data from multiple entities and prepare accurate monthly management reports that support timely business decisions
  • Establish and monitor key financial metrics, then present clear analysis and recommendations to improve operating results and overall profitability
  • Partner with business leaders on long-range planning and strategic initiatives by translating financial trends into actionable guidance
  • Strengthen finance and accounting processes by identifying issues, solving business problems, and implementing practical improvements that support sustainable growth
  • Coach, develop, and retain accounting talent while building a high-performing and collaborative team environment
  • Work closely with internal leaders to understand operational needs, anticipate challenges, and deliver responsive financial support
  • Utilize financial systems and reporting tools to support reporting accuracy and process execution

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in a Controller or progressive finance and accounting leadership role
  • Proven background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling within a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, including experience supporting both standard products and custom-built equipment
  • Experience preparing financial reports, managing month-end close activities, and supporting multi-entity consolidations
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including the ability to use VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and related analytical functions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead accounting teams, develop staff, and communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data from multiple sources and convert findings into business recommendations
