We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team in Melville, New York. This role is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail and a solid background in accounting and the construction industry. The Controller will play a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Job Responsibility:
Manage and oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
Ensure accurate maintenance of financial records and compliance with accounting regulations
Supervise document control processes to ensure proper organization and accessibility of company documents
Utilize Sage 300 to streamline accounting tasks and improve operational efficiency
Coordinate the scanning, compiling, and archiving of financial documents to maintain an organized record-keeping system
Analyze financial data to provide insights for strategic decision-making and cost management
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures that align with business goals
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information
Train and mentor staff on best practices in accounting and financial management
Assist in audits and ensure readiness for compliance reviews
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience within the construction industry
Proficiency in Sage 300 software is required
Strong knowledge of document control and record-keeping practices
Experience with document scanning and compiling processes
Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
