Job Responsibility:
Oversee all division accounting operations, including financial reporting, inventory valuation, and cost statement preparation
Direct the monthly financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in accordance with corporate policies
Lead the development and analysis of business plans, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets, coordinating data from all departments
Provide detailed monthly variance analysis of financial results against historical performance, budgets, and forecasts to identify key trends and improvement opportunities
Present financial statements and performance metrics to division management, offering strategic insights and recommendations
Establish, monitor, and enforce a strong internal control environment to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
Partner with operational teams to review capital projects, calculating expected benefits and tracking post-implementation performance
Act as the primary financial advisor to the General Manager and the local leadership team
Manage and develop the on-site finance & accounting functions, fostering a high-performance team environment
Generate in-depth analytical reports to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency goals
Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation is strongly preferred
Five to eight years of progressive and practical experience in cost and general accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial management
Significant experience within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment is essential
Proven track record in a senior accounting or financial leadership role
Ability to pass a criminal background check and able to intermittently travel within Canada
Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities with a proven ability to mentor and develop staff
Advanced proficiency in financial software and systems, including ERP (SAP preferred), Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
