Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to support an aviation-focused organization in Pompano Beach, Florida through a Contract position. This role will oversee core accounting operations, strengthen financial controls, and deliver clear reporting that supports business decisions across finance, maintenance, and supply chain activity. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership in financial management along with practical knowledge of aviation inventory accounting and systems-driven reporting.

Job Responsibility

  • Direct budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and ongoing review of results to identify trends and explain performance differences
  • Lead monthly and annual close activities, including reconciliation of ledger accounts and verification of supporting financial data
  • Produce accurate financial statements that align with company standards and applicable accounting requirements
  • Translate financial results into meaningful recommendations for leadership to improve cost management and operational performance
  • Act as the finance subject matter expert for Quantum Component Control, ensuring the accounting module supports daily business needs
  • Monitor the accuracy of information flowing between operational records, component tracking, inventory activity, and financial systems
  • Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and analysis tools using system data to support planning and decision-making
  • Assist with system updates, process improvements, and user guidance related to finance workflows within the platform
  • Establish and reinforce internal controls for financial reporting, inventory accountability, and fixed asset management
  • Coordinate audit support, maintain documentation, assess risk exposure, and help develop the AP and AR clerk functions

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a Controller or senior finance leadership role within an aviation, maintenance, or inventory-driven environment
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation processes
  • Hands-on expertise with Quantum Component Control, particularly its accounting and financial integration capabilities
  • Solid understanding of inventory accounting, component tracking, and the financial impact of maintenance and supply chain activity
  • Experience creating internal controls and supporting internal or external audits with accurate documentation
  • Ability to analyze complex financial information and present practical recommendations to leadership
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to train users and support the development of accounting staff
